The RFK Mentoring Club program matches kids who attend camp with adult mentors who attend camp. This model allows us to quickly build upon relationships that were already initiated at camp.
Mentoring Club follows the school year, running from October-June, providing an opportunity to extend the impact of camp throughout the year.
Mentors meet with the child they are matched with for 4 hours each month. In addition, all mentors, children and staff gather for a Club meeting each month. While at club everyone participates in songs, crafts, snacks, stories and more.
Club gives a little reminder of what camp was like and provides the children with the opportunity to connect with other adults and children in the program. Club also allows us to extend the impact that camp has on the lives of children in the foster care system, making RFK a year round program!
